Oak Vessel 1
This one of a kind oak burl is hollowed out to a 1” thickness. Too large to turn on a wheel, used carving skills freeform to work through the piece.
Influenced by the “Mobile” work of Alexander Calder and Kenneth Snelson’s “Tensegrity“ sculptures, would like to explore the possibility of using this burl and other large pieces as hanging/suspended fixtures incorporating light.
